Memberships
Interim Membership - Annual dues, no equity. This membership was established for two purposes: (1) to allow a limited number of individuals to hunt at the Club with full membership privileges while waiting for an equity unit to become available, and/or (2) to permit an individual (if there is no waiting list) to hunt for one year to become familiar with the Club before investing in an equity. It is not possible to continue with an interim membership if an equity unit is available for purchase and you decline.
Every new member must hunt at least 1 year as an interim member before being able to purchase an equity
Equity Membership - One-time cost to purchase equity in Hunt Club Associates LLP, an Illinois limited liability partnership which owns the land leased by the Club. You actually own an undivided portion of the land you hunt. Equity owners pay annual dues to become active members in the Hunt Club itself.
The Equity membership is the primary membership of the Club. If you wish additional information regarding equity purchase, please give us a call.
Both memberships are in limited numbers. Membership applications are available at the club.
A non-member can hunt at the club through the Introductory/Non-member Guided Hunt or as a guest with a club member.
About Our Pheasants
At McCullom Lake Hunt Club we have a larger pheasant than you will see at most clubs. Don't think the larger bird makes for an easier shot though because we pride ourselves on having a large, fast flying, and challenging bird.
We do not "set" our birds, they are all free released. You will never find a dizzy bird in the field when hunting.
Our pheasants are not pay on release or by reservation. Our members are free to come hunt when they want, hunt as long as they want, and harvest as many birds as they want.
We have several different areas that our members can hunt in ranging from strips of sorgum to woods to lowland swamp areas.
We work very hard to provide you with the best possible experience and make it as close to hunting wild birds as we can.
Quail and Chukars
We also have Bobwhite Quail and Chukars available at the club. You will find that our Quail and Chukars are large and very strong flyers. They can provide a nice challenge to even the most experienced wing shooters.
These are available by reservation and are pay on release. You will have your own area to hunt them in but you can still go hunt the rest of the club after you are done if you want to.
Off Season Activities
Just because the hunting season has ended that doesn't mean the fun has.
During the summer months we have a picnic area with a stocked pond that is available to our members to use for the day, the weekend, or longer all summer long.
We also have a wobble trap and sporting clays course available to our members.
Starting in July we have quail available for training a new puppy or just getting your dog ready for the upcomming season.
Please call ahead for all summer activities to make sure staff and/or an area is available.
